About me

Hello and welcome. I am a self-taught artist based in Birmingham, UK, inspired by the drama and beauty of the natural world—forests, hills, coastlines, and rural spaces tucked within the city—as well as the ever-changing weather and seasons.

My work has evolved a lot over time, eventually finding a place in abstract expressionism. I create mixed media paintings with bold textures, dark moody tones, and flashes of colour to capture fleeting emotions and a sense of place. I hold a BA (Hons) in History from the Open University, which also involved elements of Art History, inspiring my creativity and my love of art. My creative journey has been further inspired whilst working at an historic site in Warwickshire, England. It was there-surrounded by layers of human experience and set in striking natural environments, with a history spanning almost a thousand years-that I felt compelled to start painting. These landscapes, whether found in the countryside or tucked within the city, continue to shape my artistic perspective. Alongside the Warwickshire countryside, and the green spaces within Birmingham , I am also inspired by the landscapes of the Lake District, West Wales, and the West Pennine Moors where I grew up. Through my art, I hope to invite others into a quiet, reflective space-one where mood, memory, and nature collide.

I am building my practice from the ground up, sharing my journey as i explore new techniques, creating unique pieces, and bringing more creativity and joy into everyday life.

“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.”
